This unique course addresses the pressures you face to improve performance in health and social care. This pressure has never been as great as it is today. Its not simply a question of hitting targets and improving services - increasingly managers are required to redefine the nature of their role and radically ramp up the level of service delivery.

At CareandHealth we have resolved to move away from an approach that simply generates incremental improvements. Instead we have developed a series of mutually reinforcing modules that will raise the bar for management development throughout health and care, equipping managers with the skills required to lead their organisations to new levels of performance and productivity in both patient and client care.

Our programme is aimed at aspiring and experienced managers in health and social care wishing to develop their skills in a rapidly changing and increasingly complex environment, as well as clinicians of all disciplines moving into operational management roles within their organisation. The course has been successfully run over the past three years, and will commence again on the 18th September in London and on the 14th of November in Manchester.

The course is an integrated 10 month course running with a module a month. Click here to see the module dates.

The course results in a dual award - a  City & Guilds Graduateship  and a CIPFA accredited Certificate, therefore meeting corporate needs as well as benefiting the individual. Attendees are encouraged to carry out a supervised project/ service review during the programme which will make a positive impact to performance delivery within your own organisations.

The programme takes into account recent government initiatives as well as leading edge developments in the discipline of performance management.

"Great teachers teach, but also inspire"

We want the people in our programmes to be part of the wave of progressive management that is redefining the agenda for management in health and social care. Not to simply attend a programme, but to become part of that programme. To move towards developing 21st Century health and social care using 21st Century management tools and techniques.

We are proud that these programmes will be led by world renowned management coach, Dr. Phil Barden, and also include a combination of leaders from academia, the social care profession and management training experts. They will impart you with knowledge and the inspiration to lead change throughout your organisation.

Ongoing personal mentoring will be provided during the courses and the interchange between yourself and your course colleagues will be enhanced through the use of an electronic forum; this will facilitate public and private discussion between both students and tutors.

Need In-House Training Specific To Your Needs?

CareandHealth offer this and all our other courses, on an in-house basis for up to 25 participants allowing significant cost reductions. The course can be organised to suit the needs of both your own and any other local organisation with similar requirements.

Introducing knowledge sets for adult social care

Knowledge sets are sets of key learning outcomes for specific areas of work within adult social care. They are designed to improve consistency in the underpinning knowledge learnt by the adult social care workforce in England.

It is intended that the key learning outcomes within each knowledge set will be used by employers to develop in-house learning and by training providers, publishers and awarding bodies to produce learning programmes, resources (cd-roms, videos, workbooks) and, potentially, awards. The key learning outcomes are intended to provide minimum standardised outcomes that employers may use either to produce their own in-house learning or learning packages or as a benchmark when buying in learning provision or learning packages.
