Sutton Coldfield College is probably one of the most remarkable and rapidly developing colleges in the country. We are proud to serve all the needs of our local community – young people, adults and business.

Our mission is to put learners first, improve individual lives and increase prosperity in the West Midlands by providing first-class education and training for all.

We have an enviable reputation for being one of the most successful and popular colleges in Birmingham, attracting students from all over the West Midlands and overseas. Sutton Coldfield – Care & Childcare Faculty

The Care and Childcare Faculty  is among the best in the Midlands with a strong track record. It offers an extensive range of courses to both sixth form and adult students, from foundation level and introductory courses to management and higher education level (see the table below for more details).

Josiah Mason - child careThe Faculty prides itself on the highly qualified, specialist staff, with professional experience in a broad range of areas, including nursing, social work, health care and nursery childcare. Excellent teaching has achieved outstanding results and our students have been able to gain employment, get promoted and change careers as a result of their qualifications.

The Faculty works closely with employers in the Care & Childcare sectors to provide training for their staff, in order to meet the statutory requirements and develop the skills base. We specialise in work-based delivery of NVQs, mandatory courses and practitioner updates. We can access funding through European Social Fund and Early Years Development Partnership to make training more affordable.

In a recent survey, 100% of Care Home Managers working with JMC said that they were satisfied or very satisfied with the quality of the training programme and would use the College again.
